Bring the Lesson to Life!

Imaginative Teaching Strategies with Christian Perry

Christian’s journey in education is complemented by his diverse experiences in the world of theater and storytelling. He has traveled the U.S., captivating young audiences in national tours of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan and Martha Speaks, as well as earning acclaim in the stage adaptation of Skippyjon Jones Snow Whata standout performance lauded by The New York Times as “brilliant.”

In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Christian is the creator of Sockz Studio, an award-winning video and storytelling series that utilizes found objects and recycled materials as its primary medium. Sockz Studio has been showcased in prestigious festivals such as the BAMkids Film Festival and Children’s Film Festival Seattle.

Christian’s commitment to education extends beyond the stage and screen. He served as a Senior Community Educator at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan where he designed and facilitated a wide array of arts, literacy, and community outreach programs. These initiatives reached diverse audiences in schools, libraries, and homeless shelters, forging partnerships with institutions like NYC Department of Education, Rikers Correctional Center, and New York Public Library.

With a focus on fostering creativity and community engagement, Christian continues to inspire educators and learners alike, leaving an indelible mark on the world of education and beyond.

So engaging and refreshing. Usually, I dread going to professional development days because the trainings can be so dry, uneventful and redundant. It was so fun to focus on a part of teaching that is exciting; it reminded me how much I love watching my students enjoy and understand literary concepts and enjoy the process of story telling. It also served as a great team building exercise as it caused to all be a little more vulnerable and trust each other to be silly! Thanks again for what you do! You're amazing!”

CHRISTIAN’S APPROACH

CHRISTIAN’S
APPROACH

Dull experts tell teachers what they are supposed to do but don't explain how to do it.

Christian speaks like a real human being, giving down-to-earth, concrete tips that teachers can use with confidence.

A well-meaning author or academic leads a boring session that leaves teachers grumbling.

When Christian says, “OK, let’s take a quick break”, teachers ask, “Wait, didn’t we just start? Time is flying.”

Teachers can no longer feel their butts because they’ve been sitting for too long listening to a canned presentation.

Christian has teachers up on their feet, moving, playing games, and using their imaginations, genuinely elevating their teaching skills.

“He has a real following now… We definitely want to have Christian back for another workshop.”

Neighborhood Library Supervisor

"The workshop was great! I love how Christian had us do concrete practice and then moved into the theory and putting the theory into practice. That is how we think about early childhood education too, so it was perfect!"
